She's Got Papers has an adorable line of stationary and I always love hearing about what inspires someone to start their own business. The owner of ShesGotPapers.com sponsored our monthly giveaway and I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn more about her. Please read our interview below to get to know Tanea!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Tanea and I'm a Mom of 2 beautiful children and the owner of She's Got Papers. An avid journaler since the age of 11, I've always been fascinated with words and the magic of putting pen to paper. As a child I found that writing was a great way to express myself and as an adult my ritual of putting my goals in print have helped me to feel free and remain focused.
What was your motivation behind creating She's Got Papers?
My motivation was to inspire women who love paper as much as I do. I decided early on after designing my logo that She's Got Papers would be an all girl affair. Having a young daughter I wanted to create stationery that would be gorgeous enough to write thank you notes on for all the beautiful gifts that she's received. My tween line hopefully will give a little nudge to our young women to send handwritten notes to friends and to cut back on text messages. There is a piece in my tween line called "Learner's Permit" which is very close to my heart. It was created with my teenage son in mind. I hope that it encourages children to work hard and use their education to realize their full potential. And lastly, my ladies collection consists of pieces that mirror my life and my experiences. The "Perfect Proportion" card was created after I had a revelation on the treadmill about my weight. The "Be The Giver" card has a quote on it that says, "Love of Self is the greatest gift". It reminds us to take very good care to give ourselves lots of love. Only then can we give love to others. She's Got Papers is about life and love and enlightenment and lots of fun.
What's the concept behind the "Baby Business Card?"
The concept of The Baby Business Card was to create a calling card for kids who have places to go and playdates to keep. I was at the pediatrician's office with my daughter and observed 2 moms conversing about getting together with their kids. One mom went on about her son's schedule and how he needed his own blackberry because he was just so busy. I thought it would be great to create a card that parents could fill out with their child's information and the title is just the icing on the cake. I thought of how many moms have a talkative and precocious daughter that can easily be nicknamed, "Speaker of our House" and our little boys who'd like to make Daddy proud as a "Future PGA Champ"? The cards have gone over brilliantly for baby shower as well as birthday gifts.

My favorite, is the set pictured above which is $16.00 for a set of 8 cards and 8 envelopes at ShesGotPapers.com
